When I first got married 30 years ago, I had the same problem with the toilet seat always being left up.
I took a black permanent marks-a-lot marker and wrote in large letters "IT'S SO NICE TO HAVE A MAN AROUND THE HOUSE." under the seat of the toilet.
It worked! On up to this day my husband not only lowers the toilet seat but he also closes the seat too.
I would be interested to see what other ladies cure for this problem is that worked too. Love, Aunt Joyce
